Students are placed into one of these two groups based on playing ability/skill level and/or grade level.
Everyone that is a part of the Ad Astra team understands and champions that each student in our program is a unique and valued human being and student musician.
We value and understand that meaningful musical opportunities and positive role models greatly impact the social and emotional growth of children and adolescents.

Our mission is to provide motivated and dedicated area string students the opportunity to rehearse and perform high caliber major works from the string orchestra/chamber orchestra repertoire.
In our first season our orchestras performed music by Bach, Respighi, Bloch, Mahler, Grainger, Williams, Mosier, and more....

All repertoire selected is highly vetted to ensure educational value, age/skill level appropriateness, challenging, and enjoyable.

Ad Adstra Chamber Orchestra has designed a special and unique program in which school orchestra directors, private teachers, professional musicians, parents, and community members provide support and encouragement for the success of each and every student.
